The ODP 3.2.3.7-2 for Python 2 release includes the following key highlights:

  • Core Engine Upgrade: Upgraded Apache Hive from 4.0.0-alpha to enterprise Hive 4.0.1 — delivering improved Cost-Based Optimization (CBO), vectorized SQL execution, and automated background ACID compaction.
  • Lakehouse Unification: Integrated Apache Iceberg 1.6.1 across the stack — driving vectorized Parquet reads, zero-rewrite schema evolution, and time-travel query capabilities across Hive, Impala, Spark, Trino, and NiFi.
  • Platform Resilience: Extended High Availability (HA) support for NiFi Registry.
  • Security: Resolved 2,962 CVEs across 30+ stack components — delivering deep platform hardening and enterprise-grade protection.
  • Authorization: Added support for Ranger Read/Write (RW) Storage Types — enabling explicit storage-level privilege separation for Hive workloads.
  • Operational Usability: Streamlined Ambari UI with client installation drill-downs, faster NodeManager upgrade retries (reduced from 5m to 2m), deletion task tracking, and full config group readability.
  • Ingestion Safeguards & Visual Analytics: Enabled content MD5 checksum validation for NiFi PutGCSObject (NIFI-14969) to ensure GCS data integrity, and adopted the modernized Apache Zeppelin WebUI for an improved interactive notebook experience.
  • Mpack Upgrades: Added seamless Mpack upgrade support for Spark3, Impala, Kafka3, and Pinot, enabling smoother and lower-risk upgrades across customer environments.
