Install Kudu using Ambari Mpack

This page describes installing Kudu using the Ambari Mpack.

Steps to Install

  • Download the Kudu mpack from the Mpacks Link.
  • SCP the mpack to the Ambari Server.
  • Run the following commands to install it.

ambari-server install-mpack --mpack=ambari-mpacks-kudu-1.17.tar.gz -vambari-server restart

  • Log in to the Ambari UI and add the Kudu service.
  • Select the hosts for Kudu Masters and Tablet Servers.
    • You must select at least one of each, with a recommended maximum of up to 100 tablet servers.
    • You must select an odd number for a minimum of 3 master servers.
