Set up Configuration Files

Ensure you have the following files, configurations, and values ready before configuring Pulse to monitor a cluster:

• Kerberos Files (required if the cluster is Kerberized):
  • krb5.conf file
  • kerberos.keytab file with HDFS-level permissions.
    • The associated principal must be allowed in Ranger policies for all the services you intend to monitor.
• CA Certificates:
  • Hadoop CA certificates if the Hadoop services use SSL
  • Pulse Log Store (ElasticSearch) CA certificates to enable secure communication between ElasticSearch nodes.
• Cluster Name:
  • The name of the cluster you want Pulse to observe and monitor
